News

* Pindrop is delighted to announce the publication of Martha Lucas by Antony Christie, a fascinating collection of lyric poems which examine the turning of history through the story of a 19th century Irishwoman and her family. Weaving the personal and the social together, drawing from what is known and what can only be imagined, the result is a poetic sequence which reads like an intimate diary and sheds light on the ways women at that time were both constricted by circumstance yet manage to survive, and thrive.

* Also out now is In Transit by Chris Rice, a dazzling collection of poems about journeys, the reasons we make them and the still points they contain: arrivals, departures, attempts at escape and voyages into the unknown, as well as the journey from the end of childhood to the beginning of old age.

* And When auntie was a crow by Jo Haslam, a collection which explores the milestones of life with compassion and clarity, through the sensibility of a poet who is also a visual artist.

* Due for publication later in 2024 is work by Sujatha Menon and Robin Houghton. Pindrop is very excited to welcome those poets on board.

* Jonathan Totman, whose 2023 collection The Sessions explores therapy from the perspective of both client and therapist, has written about these two roles and where they meet, in the current issue 4 of Lapidus, the magazine about creative writing for wellbeing. His article 'Reflections on Self-Disclosure' can be read here.
